Introduction

  The Office of Information Services currently has 61 full-time IT staff members. According to the nature of their work, they are organized into four sections and one center:

 Project Development Section – responsible for system development and maintenance

 Education Support Section – responsible for classroom IT support, faculty IT training, computer repairs, and service desk operations

 Administration Information Section – responsible for the development, maintenance, and database administration of university administrative systems

 Network Management Section – responsible for campus network planning, deployment, and management, as well as data center operations

 Center for Distance Education Development – responsible for digital course development, multimedia equipment management, and distance learning services

  In addition, student assistants are recruited to form various service teams to help with software, hardware, network, cybersecurity, and webpage-related tasks.

Office of the Chief Information Officer

Responsibilities

 1.Planning and supervising all work conducted within the Office of Information Services.

 2.Inspecting and supervising the operations carried out by subordinate divisions.

 3.Reviewing recommendations for rewards, disciplinary actions, and personnel changes for staff members.

 4.Reviewing budget expenditures under the office’s allocated budget.

 5.Participating in and coordinating university-wide hardware and software procurement.

 6.Handling matters authorized or assigned by the President.

 7.Other routine administrative tasks.

Project Development Section

Responsibilities

 1.Innovation, optimization, upgrading, development, maintenance, and consultation for information project application systems.

 2.Management, security protection, and maintenance of application system databases.

 3.Setup and maintenance of application system servers.

 4.Establishing the university’s software management policies.

 5.Routine inspection of authorized software procurement and usage.

 6.Information security planning and execution for related services.

 7.Development and maintenance of other designated application systems and related tasks.

Education Support Section

 1.Providing support and services for general computer courses, teaching, research, and laboratory exercises.

 4.Planning and delivering IT training courses.

 5.Operating and managing the Office of Information Services service desk.

 6.Information security planning and execution for related services.

 7.Other designated teaching support responsibilities.

 2.Setup, management, and maintenance of the university data center.

 4.Management of cloud network application technologies and related services.

 5.Establishing, revising, and handling mechanisms for improper information prevention.

 6.Managing and maintaining university-level websites, and assisting other units with website setup and consulting.

 7.Planning and implementing the campus information security management 7.system.

 8.Other designated network application–related responsibilities.
